Pics from final reviews, December 2013.

Some fun work, the culmination of our semester's trial and error.  We are 15 MFA students.  The following are photos/montages of crits/works from the recent review days:

Lee Piechocki checking out Michael Hunter's paintings

Richard Roth center, Michael Hunter right.  This is Michael Hunter's work.  B Wurtz is in the frame on the far left.  Grace Weaver and Mike Linskie are sitting.

Philip Hinge and Christine Navin checking out Mike Linskie's work.

Mike Linskie talking about his work.  Arnold Kemp, chair of Painting + Printmaking is center.  Philip Hinge next to Arnold.

Christine Navin's work.  C. Navin at left.  These works are graphite--including the sprayed line pieces on the left. Gregory Volk looks good in between tail-lights of sports car in drawing.  In the right picture, Annie Albagli (left) and Grace Weaver (right), look like they belong to the art install.

Adriane Connerton.  This is an approx. 90 second video loop entitled "https://thepiratebay.sx/torrent/8773137/BurberryTrenchCoat".  Here, I (Aaron Storck) made a .gif of part of the loop.  This crazy ab-roller vid of Adriane's really makes a natural .gif.

Annie Albagli's work,  Nick Irzyk with the sneakers.  Should be part of the work?

Smart asses giving attitude as I'm just trying to take pictures at the review.  From left to right, Grace Weaver, Nick Irzyk, Tom Burkett, Michael Hunter.

Lee Piechocki paintings.

Aaron Koehn's work.

Matt Yaeger's work. Paintings on plexi and paintings on photos behind plexi.

Philip Hinge

Philip Hinge.  This is actually a very large painting, probably 8 feet tall.

Nick Irzyk Paintings.

Grace Weaver's.

Tom Burkett's.  He had a solar panel rigged up to some batteries rigged up to lights in an old dirty sign.  Cool poetics.  In the right hand picture Tom (with his back to us) is grilled by faculty from l to r: Arnold Kemp, Hope Ginsburg, Holly Morrison, Pete Baldes and B Wurtz.

Harris Johnson

Photo-montage of some of Aaron Storck's works (mine).  With Lee Piechocki posing for scale at right (close personal homeboy).

Jake Borndal's work

I stopped over to this house yesterday evening where some of the sculpture MFAs live, (last year some painting MFAs lived there--it's a good art party house).  They were preparing for a rager, with greek letters on the door and everything.  I didn't stay for the party due to the fact that I left for Virginia Beach last night for my own personal kind of rager (that's where I am now, watching the sun rise over the ocean).

Anyway, the front room of this apartment is spacious and is being used as an exhibition space.  Jake Borndal, 2nd year Sculpture MFA, recently installed the inaugural show.  Pretty sweet work.  Aluminum, enamel, weird little rubber straps, some epoxy pieces (not pictured)…
He has a cool website: http://www.borndal.com
